Sixth Sunday After Epiphany

Over the last few weeks, we have reflected on some pretty interesting statements that people often think are in the Bible but are not. This week, we get to talk about money: “Money is the root of all evil.” Once again, that’s not in there. Paul, writing to his protege Timothy, said something close: “The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.” It’s close, but those few differences make a big difference. The truth is that money, which has power for us, can also become a power over us. Join us as we talk about how “Money is the root of all evil” is not in the Bible and what the Bible says about our money and us instead. Hope United Methodist Church, where hope changes lives.
