Then he took a little child and put it among them; and taking it in his arms, he said to them, Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes not but the one who sent me. (Mark 9:36)

Investing in Future Generations

Shaping children by investing in future generations is a central part of God's vision for our church. We want to introduce children to Jesus, and do everything we can to help them become fully devoted followers of Christ. If you visit any of our children's ministries, you will find a safe environment where kids are having a great time and experiencing God's love.

Sunday School
10 a.m. Sunday School Programs

All children ages 3 through 5th grade will stay with their parents in the service until the Children's Message, which occurs about 10 minutes into the service. A pastor will invite all children to the front of the service, where they will receive a short lesson and participate in a prayer. Any children may then go downstairs and meet together in Friendship Hall. After the service, parents will pick up their children in Friendship Hall.

Nursery Care
For our littlest ones

Nursery Care is available for infants to children three years old during our 10:00 a.m. Sanctuary Services in the downstairs Nursery, Room L16.

We also have a Cry Room located just outside the Sanctuary, equipped with a monitor, so you and your child can continue to enjoy the service.

Nursery care can be available during most of our church events. Please call Hope's Front Office at 303.779.1040 at least one week before the event you would like to participate in.

Children Are Always Welcome!

When the crowd tried to keep the children away from Jesus, he was quick to respond, "Let the children come to me." Jesus taught that children were to be included and provided for within the community of faith. Today, the church may be the only place where some children find the unconditional love and care they so desperately need to grow and thrive. As Christians at Hope United Methodist Church, we take our responsibilities to our children very seriously.

In all of our Children Programming, we at Hope UMC:

  1. Require that children are always with two adult volunteers at all times.
  2. Require all volunteers and staff working with children to have and pass background checks.
  3. Offer Annual Sunday School Training for Teachers.
