You may have done church all your life. This may be your first visit in a long time (or ever!). That's ok. We hope you will find Hope Church an encouraging place to worship, build friendships, and seek to make a difference in our world through service.

WORSHIP - WHAT TO EXPECT

Worship begins at 10:00 a.m. every Sunday, online or in-person at 5101 S. Dayton Street. We have a few parking spots up front reserved for visitors and near the front doors for those needing handicapped-accessible parking.

COME AS YOU ARE

Meeting with any new group can be a little intemidating, but we hope you feel right at home as soon as you enter our parking lot or login online. There's no dress code at Hope. Wear what makes you comfortable..

WE LOVE MUSIC!

Our worship is fairly traditional, and we love music! We have a chancel choir, a handbell choir, and a youth praise band. We also feature vocal and instrumental solosits, the Aurora Singers, and other groups from time to time. And we hope to revive our Kids' Choir soon.

WE LOVE KIDS TOO!

Children of all ages are welcome in workship. We get that kids fidget and make noise, and we love it! So feel free to have your kids sit with you through all of worship. Sometimes, parents need a break. No problem.

  • We have a staffed Nursery for children under the age of 3 (downstairs in L16)
  • Children's Sunday School for ages 3 to 5th grade begins right after the Children's Message. Kids who go can be picked up in Friendship Hall downstairs after service.
  • Every first Sunday of the month, we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Ours is an open table where the children are invited to receive along with all adults.
FELLOWSHIP TIME WITH THE PASTORS (STARTING POINT)

Every fourth Sunday after worship, the pastors gather in the libary for a special time just for folks new to Hope.

  • We talk about what it means to be a United Methodist and a part of Hope Church.
  • We share about the opportuniites ot worship, grow, and serve.
  • We listen and respond to any questions you may have about Hope Church.
  • Mostly, we just want to get to know each other so we can be friends.

This is an Inclusive Church

We believe in being an inclusive church that does not discriminate, on any level, on grounds of economic power, gender, mental health, physical ability, race or orientation. We believe in a church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.
